OK, one last post and that's it for the night, but take a few minutes to see this wonderful piece by Todd Gibson of NBC-17 on N.C. State's hunt for its athletic memories.
Tim Peeler, the managing editor of GoPack.com, is digging through the bowels of Reynolds Coliseum to find old trophies and artifacts and is trying to organize it all for N.C. State. Gibson has some cool video of the project.

This reminds of the very nice piece from earlier this year that the N&O's Luke DeCock did on the legendary NC State sports information director Frank Weedon, who has long chronicled the Wolfpack history through gathering information and artifacts.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I ever saw Weedon was when he was assistant athletic director - although I didn't know it at the time. I thought the man getting up out of his seat and walking back and forth up the aisle in frustration every few seconds during a Wolfpack-Tar Heels basketball game at the Reynolds was a mental case. I wondered how he got away with his strange behavior until I found out who he was. He was certainly a character and is still probably the Wolfpack's biggest fan. He seems like great man.
